E-mailers beware, con artists are using the internet to cheat people out of their money.
There are many types of scams from many different countries, said Sheri Coles, area manager for the Northern Savings Credit Union. If you give out your banking information to any of these criminals, you will need to close your account and start all over again.
One recent scam involves a woman called Grace Rossman of Zimbabwe who asks for personal information to help her sneak $9.5-million out of South Africa. Another scam involves a bogus Belgian lottery.
If an e-mail sounds too good to be true, it is, said Ms Coles.
