Boundary consultation Oct. 18 in Masset

BC's Electoral Boundaries Commission will hold a public consultation in Masset on Wednesday October 18. It's part of the commissions plan to gather residents' input of the number of MLAs serving their areas and the location of riding boundaries.
The population counts for both the North Coast riding (which includes the islands) and the Bulkley Valley-Stikine riding are well below the provincial average, and the North Coast are is expected to decline further.
The input sessions are the first stage in the process leading to the commission's final report in 2008. There will be public hearings next year.
The meeting in Masset will take place at the community hall from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
