Two candidates in the last municipal election in Masset did not file campaign financing disclosure statements within the filing period.
Village of Masset chief administrative officer Trevor Jarvis included a memo on the topic on the May 8 council agenda.
Rollie Wheeler and Brian Bussiere did not file statements within the 120 day time period, or within the 30 day late filing period.
Mr. Jarvis is required by the local government act to give public notice at an open meeting that these candidates are disqualified from being nominated for, elected to or holding office on a local government or a board school trustees until after the next general election.
The notification is also forwarded to the Inspector of Municipalities.
