Cat killing case has caused outrage

Masset police say charges are pending against a 20 year old man who allegedly killed a cat August 16 by smashing it against the barracks building in Masset.
He faces two possible charges, says Cst. Keibel, of the Masset detachment-injuring or endangering an animal and causing unnecessary suffering.
Three witnesses have volunteered to give statements says Cst. Keibel. When all the statements are taken, charges will be laid, hopefully within the next two weeks, he says.
Witnesses say the young man swung the cat by the tail, smashed it against a wall and tossed it in a garbage can.
The incident has created considerable public outrage, says Cst. Keibel.
