Charlotte housing society receives provincial money

The Queen Charlotte Heritage Housing Society has received $50,000 from the province to buy and renovate three homes, creating more affordable housing for low-income families.
The grant comes through BC Housing's Community Partnership initiative, and will allow the society buy four properties on 5th and 2nd Avenues.
Construction and renovations will being next month and the houses should be ready to rent by the fall.
The housing society was formed in 24 years ago and owns and operates the 10-unit senior's housing development in Queen Charlotte.
