Electoral reform meeting next month

Islanders will have a chance to share their views about what kind of voting system BC should have at a public meeting next month.
The BC Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform will hold the meeting Saturday, June 12 from 1:30 to 4:30 pm at the Skidegate community hall.
The assembly is an independent group of 160 British Columbians randomly selected from communities around the province to review the way we elect our provincial political representatives. If it recommends a change, it will go to all British Columbians for their decision in a referendum in May 2005.
For a copy of the assembly's preliminary statement, and information on how to register to present your views or how to make a written submission visit www.citizensassembly.bc.ca. You can also phone them at 1-866-667-1232.
