Emergency water restrictions lifted in Queen Charlotte

Queen Charlotte's reservoir got low enough last week for the management committee to impose emergency water restrictions August 13, but they're lifted for now.

The wells couldn't keep up with demand during peak hours, nor could they refill the reservoir over night to the minimum required levels.

Public works investigated the system and found a leak near Westpoint Automotive-likely from corroded pipes, said supervisor Victor La Boucane. The leak is repaired, and public works will continue to monitor water levels, but for now the emergency water restrictions are lifted.
