Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL), which serves member Co-ops across the west including Delmas and Gwaii Coops here, achieved record sales and earnings this year. Sales totaled $8.4 billion, and earnings topped out at $755.5 million, $96 million over last year. $533.7 million of those earnings were returned to the Co-ops across western Canada.The $3 billion increase of sales was attributed to "the strength of the retail co-operatives' marketing programs and the promotion of Co-op Membership benefits.and service excellence by over 19,000 dedicated employees," said CEO Art Postle.FCL provides central wholesaling, manufacturing, marketing and administrative services to member retail cooperatives located in more than 500 communities across western Canada.
