Ferry protest rally Saturday

A rally to protest the proposed cuts to ferry service is planned for Saturday, 1 pm at the ferry terminal in Skidegate.The event is billed as a peaceful protest calling on Premier Clark to stop the cuts and listen to the people.The Skidegate event is timed to tie in with the BC Ferry Coalition protest being held up and down the coast, also on Saturday.Information on what you can do to fight the cuts, including info on how to appeal your property assessments, will be available at the event, according to organizers, who also ask everyone to show respect to ferry employees.BC Ferries plans to reduce evening sailings of the Kwuna and cut one sailing a week on the Rupert route, starting April 1.
