Ferry service suspended between Skidegate, Rupert

Sailings between Prince Rupert and Skidegate have been temporarily suspended until further notice, BC Ferries said in a press release Wednesday afternoon.
“This is due to an extended storm warning, which includes hurricane force south-east winds over the next 24 – 36 hours. Currently winds are from the south-east at 35 – 40 knots in Hecate Strait, with seas at 3 meters, building to 4 – 6 meters this afternoon,” the company said.
Ferries is contacting all reserved passengers to rebook passage. Customers wishing to revise reservations may also call Prince Rupert Terminal at (250) 624-9627, Skidegate Terminal at (250) 559-4485, or call toll free to 1-888-223-3779 between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm
