Foundation going into new hospital

Bouygues Construction is mixing and pouring concrete in Queen Charlotte, creating the foundational slabs that form the base of the new hospital."They're starting to install the reinforcement steel for columns as well. The basement, main floor and second floor will all be concrete," said Northern Health Project Director Peter Kallos, "By Christmas, we should see the shape of the building."Despite challenges with rock and soil excavation, he said, construction is moving along well and that the expected completion date is still late 2015."It was a huge milestone - getting out of the ground for us," Mr. Kallos said, "Above the second floor is all steel, so it will go up very quickly."
