No one has been staffing the Ministry of Transportation's Masset office since roads area manager Stephanie Gillis was transferred to the Kootenays a few weeks ago, says Ministry of Highways operations manager Randy Penner.Terrace-based Larry Proto, who manages roads in the Prince Rupert area as well, has taken over her duties and Mr. Penner says the department (based in Terrace) is going to see how that works out."We feel we can provide the same service from over here," he said.He said Highways will decide in the fall whether to staff the Masset office again.
