Hospital building tender advertised

The Northern Health Authority is currently advertising the tender to build the Massett health centre, and all bids must be in by March 23, says Masset village administrator Trevor Jarvis.
Mr. Jarvis said the bids will be evaluated by BCBC, which will then award the contract. This probably won't happen until mid to late April, due to the complexity of the tender, he said.
Meanwhile, site development continues, Mr. Jarvis said. A road has been built and ditching work is now going on. Northern Health chair Jeff Burghardt and administrator Sue Beckermann were on the islands Thursday and were taken for a tour through the area.
"Everybody's quite enthused about the project," Mr. Jarvis said.
