Kwuna cancels two sailings Sunday and Monday

Night owls traveling to and from Sandspit Sunday and Monday might find themselves marooned, as the Kwuna's two final round trips have been cancelled those nights. The 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm departures from Alliford Bay and 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm sailings from Skidegate have been scrapped to make time for the ship's engineers to replace the engine, as well as one drive legs.
"(The engine has) reached the end of its life," said Ann Carpenter, BC Ferries Communications manager, "it's old and tired." The Kwuna was built in Victoria in 1975.
