Land use talks continuing Tuesday

Talks aimed at a final land use plan for the islands continued in Vancouver this week between the province and the Council of the Haida Nation.CHN Vice-President Arnie Bellis said both sides have now received Keith Moore's report, which indicates that an annual allowable cut of 800,000 cubic metres is possible."We are going to review that and discuss that paper, said Mr. Bellis. The talks were scheduled for Tuesday. Mr. Bellis agreed that the plan may well be finalized in the coming month or so, something that Lands Minister Pat Bell told the Observer a couple of weeks ago.
