Local government grants increased

Incorporated communities on the islands will be getting more money from the province this year.
Masset is receiving $238,126 this year, compared with $186,221 last year, and Port Clements gets $213, 625, up from $160,000 last year.
Queen Charlotte will receive $216,626. Last year it received nothing as it was not incorporated.
The regional district will receive the same as last year from Victoria, $120,000.
The grants have no conditions. "Local governments are bets positioned to determine local priorities in providing services and solutions for their communities," Community Services minister Ida Chong said.
