A Masset youth will be facing a judge on assault charges after trying to mug a man near the recreation centre.
The evening of January 18, a 17-year old youth tried to rob a 45-year old Masset man. In the scuffle the older man received facial injuries, but was not robbed. He was treated in hospital and released.
The youth is charged with assault causing bodily harm. He is under house arrest where he will remain until he goes to court. Police anticipate he will be tried as a minor, says Cst. Keibel of the Masset detachment.
