The Masset RCMP organized several checkstops over the past week to check for drinking drivers, says Sgt. Grant MacDonald, and did not find any.Sgt. MacDonald said it was a clear sign that islanders are making sure they have designated drivers or other ways to get home during this season of holiday gatherings and parties.RCMP will be stepping up the number of checkstops over the next couple of weeks, he said. Watch for them on the roads.
