The Queen Charlotte RCMP is looking to have more dialogue with the community, and has asked a councillor to sit on a new committee. According to Councillor Gladys Noddin, Sergeant Neil Hogg requested she be appointed to a new RCMP consultation committee. She says he hopes to attract a representative from the schools or school board, business, seniors and youth as well. The discussion will centre on different policing situations and how different groups perceive these. Mayor Carol Kulesha said Sergeant Hogg updates council once a month, informing them of problem areas and they in turn relate their perspective to the sergeant. He does this by coming to the office and speaking privately with councillors or staff. The mayor said Sgt. Hogg is moving toward having more dialogue with the community.
