The new Bill Reid $20-bill was unveiled Wednesday in a ceremony his grandaughter Nika Collison calls ‘wonderful’.
“It was a blast”, Ms Collison told the Observer, “it was very moving. It was a huge honour, of course to have Bill’s work featured on the twenty.”
She said the ceremony in Vancouver included several speakers, interspersed with a poetry reading, and a modern dance performance, while the new bill was slowly being unveiled behind.
“It’s beautiful, everyone is thrilled with the design,” Ms Collison said of the new bill which goes into general circulation at the end of September.
