New LUPP committee forming

Representatives to the Land Use Planning Process (LUPP) forum have now been chosen, but their names won't be made public until all have been notified.
Islanders interested in participating in the process, which will design a ten year plan for land use on the islands, applied for a place at the table this spring. A nominating committee reviewed the applications and made a final decision in mid-June.
A total of 26 people, 14 representatives and 12 alternates, have been chosen to voice islanders' interests at the land use planning table. Co-chair Carol Kulesha is calling the chosen applicants to confirm their willingness to participate. And this week, letters are being sent to the other applicants. After everyone is notified, the list of representatives will be made public.
The committee will meet for the first time July 26 to create a schedule and get reading material for the summer. The first formal meeting will be September 12/13.
