Submitted by the Masset Eagles Swim Club-Amazing! Out of 409 swimmers at the Prince George swim meet April 15-19, Masset Eagles brought 11 swimmers to Points North to make a total of 69 swimmers. Points North consists of Prince Rupert, Terrace, Kitimat, Smithers and Masset.
Ten different swim clubs from as far away as Edmonton and Grand Prairie came to this swim meet. Points North came in third place overall. The competition was extreme, but after travelling one and a half days all the swimmers bettered one or more personal times. A couple of simmers are just a fraction off double AA times.
Next on our list is a developmental meet in Smithers on May 7-9, then we are off to Terrace for a regional championship swim meet on May 14-16.
Our head coach is Jeff Hiltz. Thanks to the Prince George chaperones Kim Wylie and Brandie Hill, and special thanks to the Gwaii Trust for continual travel support!
