The Port Clements council meeting scheduled for Aug. 5 had to be cancelled after only two council members showed up. Councillors Ian Gould and Kazamir Falconbridge were present, but mayor Wally Cheer and councillors Matt Gaspar and Urs Thomas were all out of town. The next council meeting will be held Aug. 18. The agenda will include a discussion about loose dogs in the village and an application from Haida Gwaii Forest Products for a permit to allow the discharge of air emissions from a briquette production facility.
