Port slashes calendar's price

With 2014 now well underway, Port Clements is slashing the price on its unique historical calendars.Council voted Monday night (March 3) to reduce the calendars to $5 each, after reading a report from the Centennial Committee. The report explained that the seniors are planning to sell 50 calendars during the Seniors Games event on March 22, and there are another 271 calendars still available.Mayor Wally Cheer said the calendars have been selling well, and it would be a good idea to sell the rest before more months go by.The calendars, which are filled with photos illustrating the village's 100-year history, are available at Bayview Market, Gas Plus and the village office.
