Masset RCMP have received several complaints about drivers in the construction zone on the highway south of Masset. While no one likes to be late, it is not worth hurting someone to do so.Please note that fines for traffic violations in the work zone can be doubled, and that information provided to police by the flaggers can be used as evidence if an offence has been committed. Also, a ticket may be issued up to one year after the offence is observed. Evidence from a witness, a flagger for example, is often enough to proceed with charges.Please slow down and obey all the signs in the work areas. Lives are at stake.
