Masset police finally had a quiet weekend March 3-4, either because of or in spite of the extra patrols that were out.
Corporal Bob Isaacs said the detachment had five officers on duty on Friday and four on Saturday, when they normally have only two.
The fire department also had two vehicles on the streets over the weekend.
Cpl. Isaacs said the extra patrols were great to have, although not sustainable in the long term.
