Not About the Distance
by Sarah Peerless
it’s not about the distance
it’s about what is held between
it’s not about how far you are
but what my feelings mean
it’s not about the knowing
because I’ve never told
it’s not about the passing time
I don’t fear growing old
it’s not about the truth
that I’ve hidden in my heart
it’s not about the sincerity
for what I’ve to impart
it’s because I hold you dear
I dread making a mistake
it’s because I can’t forget you
that you have my heart to break
and it’s because you’ve never known this
but my soul will have its say
one year I’ll find the courage
to say “I love you” on Valentine’s Day.
Roses are Red

You're In For A Treat
Hey Baby
By Stanley Noseworthy
Hey Baby, you look so fine.
Standing there just passing time.
If I had the kahoonas to say to you,“Lets get busy this afternoon,”
I’m sure you’d slap me in the face,
And cause me much social disgrace.
But because it’s Valentine’s Day this week,
Perhaps I’ll find the will to speak.
For now, let’s just pretend,
That I said it, and we’re still friends.
When the time comes for such displays,
Of passion, love and kinky ways,
I’ll let you know through some such means,
That we go better than rice and beans.
