AMS Building Centre is now a RONA-affiliated dealer in Haida Gwaii, resulting in an increased range of products being offered to customers.

The growth plan includes 350 new flooring, paint, storage, seasonal, backyard, hardware and building products for people to choose from.

The business operates a retail space of 5,000 sq. ft. and a 2.5 acre lumber yard. Store owner Mark Goetzinger is investing in growing the operations and revamping the storefront, a press release stated.

"Being part of the RONA network will allow our store to provide a consistent supply of excellent quality products and to increase our overall offering so that we can better meet the needs of our customers," he said.

"We are also confident that RONA’s outstanding distribution network and business development support will place us in a great position to grow our business in the future and gain market share."

AMS has a legacy of 35 years serving local customers with home supplies and industry professionals with construction equipment and materials.

For several years, Mark helped his parents run the family business and develop its strategies. In 2024, he assumed full ownership of it.

"AMS Building Centre has great expansion potential, and we are happy to support them in their growth projects and in achieving their goals," said Alain Ménard, senior vice-president of RONA affiliated dealers.

Formerly AMS was associated with Ace Hardware.

RONA operates or services around 425 corporate and affiliated dealer stores in Canada under its banner.
