Calling all changemakers! Do you have an idea that could spark change in your community but could use some support and funding to help get that idea off the ground? Or maybe you want to improve a local green space, but don’t know how to get started?

Apply for a microgrant today – funds are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Healthy Habitats Community Service Grants program is now offering up to $5,000 in micro-grants to youth ages 15 to 30 in Canada. The program offers financial support, mentorship and networking opportunities to individuals who are ready to make a difference in their community but may need a little help getting started.

Project ideas of all types are welcome! Participants are working on projects ranging from hosting a virtual screening of a nature documentary, to running a beach cleanup, and even organizing a nature walk in their local park. Organizers can’t wait to hear your ideas and support your initiatives!

For those enrolled in technical or graduate degree programs, this funding can be used to cover your project or research costs, including supplies, transportation fees or whatever else you may need. Applicants are welcome to complete a project as a team or collaborate with an organization to help them carry out their project.

Need another reason to apply? Fifteen grant recipients will have the chance for an all-expenses-paid trip to Vancouver to attend the INVASIVES 2024 Forum, taking place Feb. 26 to 29!

Attend workshops and sessions on topics ranging from food security in changing ecosystems to invasive species management in urban habitats. Connect with other youth passionate about community and environmental change and immerse yourself in an environment of inspired changemakers just like you!

If you have a project idea but you’re unsure it fits the criteria, get in touch! Organizers are always happy to support interested applicants and work with you to ensure your project can get the funding it needs to become a reality. Applying is easy: visit the Healthy Habitats website and click on the ‘Begin Application’ button to access the online portal.
