The province is contributing $25,000 for adult and family literacy on the islands. The program here is sponsored by the Haida Gwaii Learning Circle Society and Northwest Community College. It includes creating partnerships with other partners on the islands, expanding the resource library and continuing literacy activities including Book Buddies and Mother Goose programs, as well as the literacy page each week in the Observer (see page 2).
The funding announcement came as part of an announcement of $1.3 million for literacy funding across the province.
