A car ended up on its roof in the ditch after a single vehicle accident last Thursday morning (April 8) about two kilometres south of Masset, says RCMP Sgt. Grant MacDonald. Sgt. MacDonald said the driver and passenger were both uninjured thanks to their seatbelts, but the vehicle sustained some damage. The car was travelling north on Highway 16 in snowy conditions, when it went off the road and flipped, ending up in the east ditch on its roof. Police, ambulance and the volunteer fire department all responded. “I believe somebody driving by came upon it and called by cell phone,” Sgt. MacDonald said. “It’s good that it was in an area with cell phone coverage.”
