Accused appear in court

One of the islanders accused earlier this year after a northern-BC wide drug investigation appeared in court this month. Richard Aiken, who has been charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, appeared in provincial court in Queen Charlotte Oct. 16. He has not yet pleaded guilty or not guilty. His next appearance was scheduled for Dec. 4. Greg N. Brown and Gwungai A. Brown, both facing two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, had their counsel appear by phone in Masset provincial court Oct. 17. Both have elected to be tried by a provincial court judge. Next appearance was scheduled for Oct. 30 in Prince Rupert, at which point a date will be set.
