Airport to reopen Thursday

A BC air ambulance crash landed at the Sandspit airport around 9:00 pm Tuesday (Nov. 12). None of the four people on board were injured. The plane was on a medevac mission, but had not yet picked up its patient when it crashed. The plane's undercarriage collapsed on landing. Sandspit airport was closed most of Wednesday, but was expected to be operating normally on Thursday. Airport manager Bob Ells says the response team moved very quickly once they were notified, and he's pleased no one was injured.
