All-islands art show opens Thursday evening

Submitted by Penny Richardson, show curator--The QCI Arts Council and the Haida Gwaii Museum are pleased to announce the All Islands Art Show 2003 has its gala opening night tonight (Thursday) at 7:00.
The Haida Gwaii Museum Art Gallery is full to over flowing with our islands' creative bounty. The artists from our communities have managed to paint, mould, draw, cast, print, carve, drill, film, photograph, weave, shape, cut, sew, and/or design a wonderfully eclectic feast for the eyes. Most artists will attend, and the exhibition runs until March28.
The adjudicator for this show, Ms. Theresa Towers-Rickard, comes from Red Deer, Alberta and is a graduate of Red Deer College of Art and Design. She teaches workshops and creative seminars throughout western Canada. Theresa has won several awards and her work is represented in private and public collections nationally and internationally. Theresa owns and operates a visual and digital design shop - Studio Mosaic.
As well as the adjudication, Theresa will host a slide show on Friday February 22 at the museum, concerned with the digital design process and Theresa's own work. On Saturday (Feb.23) she will lead a monotype printmaking workshop.
