Arts council busy

Submitted by Pat Carrie Smith, QCI Arts Council. Mark your calendars-the arts council is sponsoring a lot of activities this spring and summer!
This Saturday, March 27, come to a workshop to meet Montreal blues singer Penny Lang. It will be very interactive-your chance to hear about her experiences in the music business, ask questions, and just "jam" with a veteran of songwriting and performing. The workshop costs $10, and will be held at the QC church annex, Saturday March 27th, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
If you haven't yet seen the All Island Art Show for 2004, there is still time. It runs until April 3 at the Haida Gwaii Museum in Skidegate. It's a great opportunity to enjoy an eclectic selection of the islands' artists.
Don't forget to get your entries in for the F.W. Ellis Non-Fiction Writing Contest-the due date is April 1st. Mail them to QCI Arts Council, Box 35, Queen Charlotte.
Future events planned by the QCI Arts Council include readings by CBC's Bill Richardson in July, and by author and poet Lorna Crozier in September.
The Arts Council now has a website, a work-in-progress, which exists currently on the personal web page of its author, Pat Carrie Smith: www.qcislands.net/pcsmith. In the near future, a "qciarts" URL and additional website pages will be available.
