The day began with a jolt for the manager of Rachel's Haida Way in Masset last Thursday around 8:30 am.
An intoxicated man and woman came into the store. The man assaulted the store manager and then another person who came to her aid.
The man now faces several charges including assault causing bodily harm, assaulting a police officer, uttering threats and causing a disturbance. He is in custody and will appear in court Monday morning. Police also arrested the woman who was with him, and are recommending charges against her as well.
The store manager received minor injuries, and received treatment at the hospital.
