Liberal candidate Bill Belsey spent twice as much as the NDP’s Gary Coons in his failed attempt to retain the North Coast seat in the May 17 provincial election, according to financial statements filed last week.
Mr. Belsey raised about $138,000 during the campaign, most of it from the Liberal party headquarters, and spent $118,000.
Mr. Coons, who won the election, raised $56,000 and spent $54,000.
