The cold weather and snow could have been lethal says the Masset RCMP.Corporal Jim Dehoog says the Masset detachment received a call during the night on Dec. 27 and were told that a man was passed out in a bush."If not for that person, this person might have froze to death," he said.The person was taken to hospital and warmed up then brought to the RCMP station to sober up.Corp. Dehoog says his officers are vigilant about looking for people who are intoxicated and ensuring they get indoors. More than 23 cm of snow has fallen in the last week and the temperatures have dipped as low as -6.5 degrees Celcius.
