A candidate for Queen Charlotte council in the last municipal election has been banned from running in the next election, after failing to send in financing disclosure statements by the deadline.
Regional district administrator Janet Beil, who ran the Queen Charlotte election, said candidate Anne Mountifield did not file her statement, despite a reminder. She had 120 days after the November election to do so, and then a further period in which she could file and pay a penalty.
The next local government elections will be held in November 2008.
