A Queen Charlotte woman had her car impounded for 30 days after loaning it to a man who fell afoul of the law Thursday.
RCMP said they stopped the man for driving 80 km/h in a 50 km/h zone just past Second Beach, and discovered his driver's licence had expired in 1995. Despite the fact the vehicle didn't belong to him, police say they were obligated to impound it anyway. He received some hefty traffic fines as well.
If people choose to loan out their vehicles, police suggest they first check that the borrower has a valid driver's licence.
