A new cell phone might be a good idea for your Christmas list this year if you live in Sandspit, Queen Charlotte or Skidegate.Telus spokesperson Jeremy Baxter said they've got 80 feet of the tower on Moresby Island stacked. "We're hoping to have it topped off by late September or the first week of October," he said.The next step will be to test all the equipment and he says Telus hopes to have cell phone service available to local customers by the end of the year.He can't give an exact date, because delays during the construction process can happen, but the project is a big one and important to the company, he says."The total cost has been upwards of $850,000. We're looking forward to turning it on as soon as possible."
