Queen Charlotte council voted Monday night (June 30) to give final approval to a bylaw allowing it to borrow up to $900,000 to build improvements to the water system. The loan will allow the village to put the intake for the new water system above an old garbage dump, rather than below it. Queen Charlotte residents voted 79 percent in favour of spending more money to put the intake above the dump in a referendum held last month.
