Queen Charlotte RCMP have come up with a new procedure for contacting the office after hours, after receiving several complaints about the old system.
Sgt. Eric Stubbs says that from now on, when the RCMP office is closed (after 4:30 pm and before 8:30 am on weekdays, and all day on weekends), callers who dial 559-4421 will automatically be forwarded to the Terrace dispatch. If the call requires police attendance, the complaint will be dispatched to a constable. If it is not urgent, he asks that callers leave a message.
