Coons continues as critic

  • May. 2, 2011 8:00 p.m.

North Coast MLA Gary Coons has been reappointed as the opposition critic for ferries and coastal communities by new NDP leader Adrian Dix. The reappointment was not much of a surprise as Mr. Coons has been a persistent critic of BC Ferries’ ongoing fare hikes since he was first elected in 2005. His riding covers Bella Bella as well as Haida Gwaii, the most ferry-dependent communities in the province. Mr. Dix announced the NDP’s new shadow cabinet in late April. MLAs have returned to Victoria for a new legislature session.
