Credit Union celebrates 70th

The Northern Savings Credit Union is celebrating its 70th anniversary next week, and there will be lots going on at both the Queen Charlotte and Masset branches.The credit union now known as Northern Savings got its start in Prince Rupert in 1940 as the Prince Rupert Fishermen's credit union. Today, Northern Savings has more than 200 employees, serves more than 20,000 members and holds assets of $850-million, and has branches in Prince Rupert, Masset, Queen Charlotte and Terrace.Next week's festivities will be held in conjunction with credit union week.
