One firefighting officer and six crew members worked over the weekend to extinguish a forest fire near the popular Reversing Falls campsite in Juskatla Inlet.Fire information officer Marg Drysdale said the blaze was reported the morning of Aug. 10. A crew responded and by Monday (Aug. 12) the fire was in mop-up stage. The fire burned approximately 0.2 hectares, Ms Drysdale said. It is believed to be human-caused, and the exact cause is under investigation, she said. The fire was located west of Juskatla, at a tip of land about 1.5 km south of the Harrison Islands in Juskatla Inlet. Conditions have been relatively dry on Haida Gwaii this summer, but so far not dry enough that there have been any fire restrictions.
