A magnitude 5.9 earthquake Thursday (June 9) off the southern tip of Haida Gwaii was felt by some Sandspit residents.
Pat Carrie Smith said she missed it, but her husband Tom noticed it. "My husband was in the kitchen and he felt it," she said.
The quake occurred at 7 am about 100 km south of Kunghit Island.
