Edwards equipment stolen

Police say more than $50,000 worth of equipment has been stolen from the Dinan Bay logging camp.
Corporal Bob Isaacs of the Masset RCMP detachment said the theft is believed to have occurred the evening of March 29.
The stolen goods, belonging to logging contractor Edwards & Associates, consisted mostly of vehicle parts, machinery, and tools, Corp. Isaacs said. But although the goods were valuable, they were not too bulky and would probably all fit in the back of a large pickup.
In a second incident, also reported March 30 and probably related to the first, over $5,000 worth of similar items were stolen from the McClinton Bay logging camp. These items also belonged to Edwards & Associates, Corp. Isaacs said.
Both camps are isolated, he added, and the thieves probably knew there would be no one around.
