Sandspit residents go to the polls Saturday (Aug. 29) to elect a new regional district director. There are three candidates: Duane Gould, Dana Northcott and Evan Putterill. The polls will be open from 8 am until 8 pm at the Sandspit community office on Alliford Bay Road.Voters will need to bring two pieces of ID, at least one with a signature, in order to prove residency and identity. Voting is open to anyone who has lived in Area E (Moresby Island) for at least the past 30 days, has lived in BC for at least the past six months, is a Canadian citizen, and is at least 18 years old.We will post election results as soon as possible here at www.qciobserver.com.
