Enbridge not coming this month

Enbridge Inc. has put off plans to make a presentation in Port Clements about its Alberta-Kitimat oil pipeline until next month at the earliest. Village administrator Heather Nelson-Smith said Enbridge representatives, who had previously said they would be in Port on May 11 or 18, told her a few days ago that they now can’t come until June. Port council members invited the company to make a presentation after listening to the local Enbridge Awareness Group, which wants every community on the islands to make a formal resolution opposing the pipeline. Mayor Cory Delves said he didn’t want to make a decision without first hearing both sides of the issue.
